I should be starting in a partial program tomorrow. I am waiting to hear confirmation on that. They will provide a bus or van to pick me up so I don't have to worry about transportation.

They are also going to set me up for temp disability. The program can go for as long as 60 days.

This is good but I am still very worried about money. I am already so far behind, and being on disability will reduce my income. It sucks.

I am hoping the program will help me deal with that extra stress.

I've never been in a program at this hospital. I've been in two different partial programs in the past and I know how different they can be... one was incredibly intense and helpful, also very personal... when my insurance stopped paying for that one I went into another one that was of no use to me at all, other than seeing a doctor twice a week to try different meds (and even that was a bit of a fiasco... they put me on one med at one point and then two days later changed their minds and switched me to something completely different... given how long it takes for these meds to take effect and how poorly I was feeling, that was just two wasted days on a med without giving it any chance to do anything).

Anyway as I said I have no idea what this program is like but I am hoping for something positive.

And hoping that some progress can be made before the real world completely crashes down around here. I already have summons I have not been able to respond to, etc...

Thank you kd

At times like right now when I can think more lucidly, my fears do seem to go back and forth...

On the one hand I do have a lot of very very real stressors and very serious things to worry about: the car reposession, the unpaid bills, the summonses, etc.

But I also know that depression takes things out of perspective. So at times I feel there will be no way to overcome these things and at other times I wonder if the depression is making things seem worse than they are. That can be hard to justify when I realize I am almost out of food again and I have no more clean socks left and have no way to get to the laundromat or grocery store on my own.

I'm trying to think positively but everytime I start writing I turn negative again.

I went back to bed when the evaluators left and was in bed until after 3:00 today, I did finally get up and shower and now I am going to have something to eat.

So I didn't hear back (via email, I still have no phone) so I got up early this morning, dressed and took my meds, and I'm all ready to go waiting for a bus or van to take me to the partial program.

But so far nothing.

I don't even know what time the program begins or when to expect to be picked up. But I can't imagine the program starts much after 9:00am, and it is already quarter till...

Maybe the van is lost?

I don't know but I am getting antsy and nervous. I am almost ready to crawl back into bed...

Depends on how flexible the program is.

I was looking at the hospital's website and it does look like the kind of program I would do well in and benefit from...

That is, if they would actually show up.

Possible the program starts at 9:30? It is 9:00 here already. I emailed the woman who was here yesterday but she may be out on the road and may not see my email until later... Next Step

Did they call you yet? Did you get the bus?
I know your site online says you are from NJ, so am I.
I hope this program will give you what you need to start feeling better. I know about a few partial programs and some of them are good.
Take care!

You're not dumb. There are a lot of people here and I often forget who has what going on.

I can't imagine that they are closed for the holiday but maybe the van driver is off because of the holiday or something?

I keep to myself here and don't really know any of my neighbors so until I hear via email I'm just on my own. I'll have to see what tomorrow brings.

I appreciate your support sj

Hi kimmy

I did occupy myself this morning looking for their website. There were no times listed though (but they did have times listed for some of their other programs, like the children's programs, maybe that was just so parents could schedule).

All I know is that the people yesterday told me that the program runs until 3 in the afternoon, and the website says it is a 6 hour program, so that's why at 9:30 I gave up the idea that they were coming today.

Maybe it is just taking another day to get me processed or something.

Sorry about that, Dexter. Maybe there's been an administrative error. You know how that goes.
It'll work itself out. Hang in there!
