Howdy,
I'm sure I've been suffering from depression for awhile now.. I understand some of it is passed on genetically, & the rest is (typically) either environmental or physiological.. I've been prescribed Paxil and Bupropion in the past with limited results - the detox from either was pretty horrible when I couldn't afford to pay for the scrip... However, I've gotten to a point where I'm ready to ask a doctor (again) for help/relief/whatevertheheckyawannacallit. I'm mostly curious as to what those of you out there in netland have tried & had some success with. I understand this is a condition much like alchoholism - that there is no real cure, but I'm hoping maybe someone has some little tidbit out here that I can bring to the table to my professional medical provider.. At this point I don't feel like i have a whole lot of hope in the matter, but ya never know.. I struggle staying on the 'upside' every day & would like to be able to keep hope alive awhile longer. Anything will do. For those of you out there like me, just KNOW that there is a bright side to everything, no matter how dim that brightness may seem.. It sucks when you cant find that.. Trust me. I GET THAT. I'm here with ya'll goin thru the same crap-o-la. Anywho.. thanks for listening/reading/whatev. Listentothemusic |

Hi ~ I've been on a couple of meds that helped me. One was Prozac -- that worked well for a while, but then I got accustomed to it, and I had to be switched to something else. Now I'm on Cymbalta twice a day along with Abilify. This works GREAT -- I feel just fine. I'm clinically depressed -- I've been depressed since I was a child..
I hope you find some relief to your depression. I certainly know the awful pit of darkness. ![]() ![]() |

I really dislike that we as mental health sufferers have to go through h**ll just because we can't afford our meds. Just last week I went like five days without my meds and had like two breakdowns, and horrible nausea! These pills AFFECT THE NEUROTRANSMITTERS IN OUR BRAIN and yet if we can't afford them for whatever reason, we have to go without and brains go on a nightmarish rollercoaster. NOT FAIR...
