I thought I'd share this, as it really made me laugh.

Yesterday I was having a really bad day. My boyfriend and I were going out to get lunch, and the conversation turned to my depression. At one point he made the following comment:

I think [depression] helps to explain some things about you. I used to wonder why you don't like [favorite TV show], but now I realize it's just because of your illness.
That got a huge laugh out of me!

it's more of ironic and sadly it's what psychiatry tries to sledgehammer into you. you turn into collection of symptoms, you aren't allowed to be yourself anymore and be non-comformist... but worry not... there's a cure. Pop a pill and you'll like Jersey shore!!!!

Yeah, I saw that too. But I know that he meant it totally tongue in cheek, and I'm used to his sense of humor. For me it actually was a nice reminder that I'm still me.
