G'evening everyone! I am new to this community and posting so bear with me
![]() As my bio says, I have been suffering from depression for over 12 years, becoming MUCH worse in the last 3-recently diagnosed with major depressive disorder. I have tried different drugs, some worked, some didnt, some did for awhile and then stopped...The red ones, the blue ones, the green ones...lol.....Since my depression has worsened, I am on a quest to find the right treatment which as you all know is very frustrating....Ok here is where I need the advice.... Doc just started weaning me off of Zoloft because it is becoming ineffective. I am taking 25mg per evening now. Doc started me on 10mg of Celexa. The first week I take the Celexa and the Zoloft together. The following week I take Celexa on its own. At the end of the 2nd week I go back to the doctor. She is at that time going to up my Celexa dose and also try to put me on an add-on medication. I have heard of all of the add-on medications, but would just like some commentary on peoples experience with them. I researched alot of them, but with so much on the market, its nice to get some real time feedback! Thanks for all your help! ![]() |

Are you taking part in therapy?
I've been on over 12 antidepressants, and I'm not so sure any of them really improved my mood. It would be beneficial to not pin your hopes on a pharmaceutical and nothing else. You have to do the work. An AD may take the edge off, but from my experience, there was/is no quick fix.
