I haven't gotten out of bed for the last week until late in the afternoon. There is nothing wrong with me. I am not sick, but I just can't find the effort to get up, get dressed, and go to my college classes. I know that I am falling behind, and I hate skipping classes, but I just can't seem to pull myself out of bed to go.

How do I break this cycle and get out of bed and go to class?

I highly doubt it. You got yourself into college, yes? This "episode" is only about a week old, yes?

How do you know? Granted, your symptoms are similar to depressive symptoms, but other illnesses can mimic depression. Is it possible for you to be checked out by a medical doctor? It is best you not assume "nothing is wrong" with you.

If you cannot find the strength soon, then it is possible you will require assistance to break the cycle. Do you have counseling services available to you on campus?

Please keep posting.

College can be super stressful. It's possible that you are so overwhelmed that you don't have the energy to do any of it.

That's how I am, and then I wonder if I'm just lazy as well. I feel ya.

Thanks for the advice. It turns out that it was just an extended PMS episode. I feel fine now, and now that I know to expect feelings of apathy four days before my period, I can try harder next month to work through it.
Thanks for this!
