Your counselor can suggest that you have something, but only a doctor can really diagnose you with something. If you're convinced you have something else, sure bring it up to your counselor. What could it hurt?

You are the patient, but a paying one ($$$), so do not take a diagnosis you have to pay for if you think it might be wrong.... I have always been right on the money with what I thought was wrong with me.... I had to talk to the therapist for her to know where I was coming from compared to what she thought.

Good Luck -

Actually, if the counselor is a licensed mental health professional (i.e. an LPC or an LCPC) he/she can diagnose mental health disorders in most states.
