i have depression and ocd. i'm on 5 meds - zyprexa, cymbalta, welbutrin, trileptal and prozac. i know u guys are not doctors, but has anyone been on a lot before? my depression is horrible and ocd is lousy, so my dr is trying all possiblities...i don't know what to do anymore. even during the times the depression is not so bad, i'm in constant fear of it coming back. what kind of life is that. i don't wan to fight anymore...

I've had pretty much different meds. It was like let me think...

Zyprexa, risperdal, prometazine, temazepam, cetraline, abilify, and some other stuff.

Overall, I don't think they are dangerous together. Never had that feeling... But really none of that stuff helped... it just made me feel worse and more suicidal, because I became so lethargic.

Have you ever considered other treatment options, such as Therapy or Self-Help? I'm not saying you stop your medications. Please don't. I'm saying using medications in combination with therapy and self-help.

For finding a therapist this is a good way to look: http://www.goodtherapy.org/find-therapist.html

For self-help amazon.com or barnes and nobles are good places to go to for self-help books. Some examples:

Just some ideas, maybe they can help you out. If things don't work, it's time to try other treatment options. But again, in combination with meds.

pills can help, but they have side effects. The more are you on, the worse it can get. Sometimes they can make it worse... in such case weening off to see your baseline is solution, not adding more to the mix.

obviously, I am not doctor.... but it seems bit excesive... can you talk to your providers about why are you on each of these things? If they cannot reasonably explain, that maybe it is too much.

good luck.
