So, the med change is at it's low point, where I'm on very little, and will be starting another. Saw the shrink yesterday, and felt fairly numb. Didn't cry, which was a first in months. And then she asked if I had felt suicidal.

Kind of a weird question, I thought.

I can't remember.......is this a standard question at this point of a med change?

Depending on what you're coming off of ... not an unusual question.

It's not an odd question. One side effect of meds can be suicidal thoughts, rare case I think but obviously a very serious one. So she's probably just doing her job.

I'm sorry you're feeling numb, I hate that feeling

Sorry, you're feeling like this, Sookie3.
I know if you feel numb you feel lifeless. I prefer feeling sad when I can just let it all out and have a really good cry than having to deal with the numbness. At least after crying there is some kind of relief afterwards.

Mention the numbness, especially if it persists over the next few days.
It will change fortunately so hold on to that certainty. It doesn't last forever even if it feels that way at the time.

I'm asked the same question at every appointment, whether there's a med change or not. It's part of our clinic's routine.

Hopefully the numbness will go away soon.

Thanx all I think I've gone numb as a protective coating. But this too shall pass. I just have to go pick up the Zoloft.

Thanx......I hope so too.

Funny thing. I'm a big fan of The X-Factor. On the show last night, my favorite contestant, the 18 year old from the BVI, sang "Listen" from Dreamgirls. Talk about connecting with a song I'd heard a thousand times!
