I've been on my own two feet since July, almost a year without relying on doctors, prescriptions, or therapy. I've been happy and healthy, I've not let anything drag me back down.

I've had my days where I wish I was still housebound, not having to deal with the raging masses with people that are insulting or rude. I still make myself go out, go to work, go grocery shopping.

The one thing that defeats me, every time, is being in a crowded place. Where there are so many people it's almost like being trapped.

I was out for dinner with the boyfriends' family, and at the South Common Keg. There were so many people, and there were people crowded around our table, I almost felt like I was choking, my heart was racing, and I was so nervous. I was fine once the area cleared out, but it was still scary.

(((hugs))) Sounds like an anxiety attack. Anxiety and depression often walk hand in hand. Have you checked out the grounding techniques for such situations? TC Too many people??

I experience this too. I will climb stairs to the 10th floor rather than use the elevator. People standing too close to me in queue is likely to start a panic attack. I can't even have my husband sit on one side of me and my son on the other. One is fine, but not both. I will not travel on a bus and if flying is necessary, it also comes with its share of panic.

I have this space around me that I call my bubble space. And I am not very keen on having it invaded.

As you said, it is like being trapped.

HJGS, fwiw I admire your making the effort to get out, despite how uncomfortable it is for you. That takes courage, and I know how hard it can be.
