Am I the only one who is being knocked away by common society??
People are so into texting, as they walk or drive around. Common laws are being broken daily right in front of me. People oblivious to Fire Engines and ambulances, they don't move over, just keep on driving without care or attention. No one watches out for pedestrians at all, either in or out of crosswalks ~ even when they have the right of way. Speeding down streets with lots of pedestrian traffic. People are in such freaking hurries, they just can't stand to wait a couple of extra seconds and follow laws! What in the world in happening here?! I can't stand it!! I absolutely dread seeing our society become inevitably worse ~ I can't even bear the thought of it. I can't wait to get the heck off this Earth, and get away from these selfish, self-absorbed, oblivious jerks! ![]() I become SO frustrated and disgusted with humanity. We need a heck of a lot more "do good" people out there now than ever before, as I seriously see our society as falling apart from decent human values. Any thoughts or input on this subject??

I share your frustration and dissapointment. A few months ago, a little girl was killed on a pedestrian crossing, there's a stop sign outside my house that nobody 'notices'. Since God was removed from our schools over here, kids have gotten worse each year, zero respect for themselves, peers or teachers. I could go on and on, there's lots more, but this is not my rant. The way I see it, society is so caught up with me,me,me, that concideration is an endangered species.

I agree with both of you. I don't like the changing times. I now worry about my children getting sucked into this horrible society. I just try and pray that im raising them right.

A couple of random thoughts. Mn is the state of nice. The say you can't go home.
It's true you can't go home. I went back to MN for a few months around Christmas time and I didn't recognize my home town. Where was the "nice"? When I was growing up there everybody looked at you, said Hello, Thank you, How are you, Please, Fine..etc. I missed that, I really did. I really can not remember any one my age in school that was obese, a couple of kids were overweight, sure and a few farmers who were obese. Now it seemed like it was was one of every 3 people that needed to urgently lose weight. Every where I looked stores were closed, houses were for sale, kids and adults alike, all of them seemed to be on those infernal phones and ipads. Where was my MN, I don't know. Everywhere you go the economy is down the drain and that seems to be a huge part of it to me. Who wants to look up when all you can see are a bunch of for sale signs and stores with going out of business,& closed signs on them. During time I was there, the news was stories about drunk kids mowing down pedestrians and not stopping. Right in downtown Rochester. Bad enough one, but it wasn't just one and one of them kept saying it wasn't the alcohol, it was his bad vision! Then there was the rough play in hockey that cost two kids their mobility. Illegal moves and still allowed to play, that would not have happened years ago. You don't feel bad for the person who chucks another, you give them a penalty and kick them out of the game to learn a lesson. To me thats what has gone wrong. No one gets a lesson any more. You keep getting away with bad behavior and so you keep doing more bad behavior until people get hurt and it's jail time. We need to stop handing out blue ribbons to every person just for standing around, and start saying "NO" and meaning it again. I'm not for corporal punishment, but you still need to punish bad behavior and give lessons. When my daughter was young she had a chair she had to sit in and think about what she had done and what she could have done differently---she hated it. She once asked me to spank her, like her friends got. I asked her why, "cause it was fast and over with", that was why. I asked her if they learned anything from that, she didn't know but didn't care, she didn't like having to think about it. When every child gets a ribbon the ribbon's become meaningless, and when children do not have consequences and lessons they grow up thinking their actions will go unpunished. Get rid of the PC (politically correct) and bring back right and wrong, one blue ribbon for the winner, second, and third place, let kids try harder to win. There is a lot to be said for learning how to lose well, and learning how to challenge yourself when you don't get what you want. Let kids get skinned knees and learn that life is not all roses and for every action there is a consequence. Look up, face life. As the Buddha say, you cannot have happiness with out the sad. No joy without the pain. Thats my 2 cents.
