So im 17 and i can't do things without my parents knowing because i have no car and no money of my own. I want to go to therapy but i don't want anyone to know about it. My mom has always had a big mouth so i think she'll go around telling everyone, and i don't want anyone to know so i don't know what to do. I need someone to talk to because sometimes i just feel hopeless. I feel like my life will never get better and i see my friends going out and having fun while i'm staying home doing nothing. Realizing i don't do anything makes my depression even worse.. I don't know what to do. I just need some words of advice from someone who understands what i'm going through.

Hi idk. I also have depression, no car and not much money so i can understand a bit of what you are going through. I am, however, a lot older than you. You are at the age where you should be going out and trying to have fun. It's important for you to do that. Try doing just a little at a time and working your way up. Start by going shopping or just window shopping in the mall with one friend from school. Try going to a movie with someone you like. Isolating yourself when you are depressed is very bad for you. I also think you should talk to your mother. Tell her how you feel and what you need. Make sure she understands that you want it kept quiet! Also, when you get a therapist, tell the T to ask your mom to say nothing. Usually when a doctor says something like that Mom will listen.

You should have a serious talk with your mom, I'm sure she loves you and she doesn't want you to get hurt further by her big mouth. You are so young, you should enjoy your life while you are still young, cherish your school lives with friends, this could be the most fun moments in your life and when you look back one day, this fun school lives would be some fond memories. The sooner you get help, the sooner you can enjoy with your friends.
