I want to be able to tell my close friends that sometimes, as a grown man.. I sit at home and cry thinking about the peace I'd find when I'm gone.

The thought of not being able to reach out to anyone maks the feelings stronger.

Hey my friend -- lets not have any talk about "when you're gone." Why can't you talk to your CLOSE friends about your depression? Don't you think they'd be supportive? I'd wager a bet that they would! You know, there's a lot of people on this earth that suffer from depression, and I'll bet some of your friends know what it's all about but just haven't said anything about it -- just like you -- because they don't know how it would be received by their friends -- just like you. Maybe if you opened the door, so to speak, it might start some conversation between you about it, and you WOULD have some support!

Just because someone "looks" happy and serene doesn't mean they are. We all put on our masks for other people's sakes. We're good at hiding what we really feel. You and I aren't the ONLY ones that do that either. There are millions of people who wear masks. So talk to your closest friends, and let them know that you suffer from depression so that they CAN be there for you. Give them a chance -- don't write them off as non-supportive before you even give them a chance. Who knows -- they may need some support from you too, and that would give you both something to do -- to make sure each other is okay!

Give it a try, will you ArrMCee??? Please? It just might work. God bless, and let me know how things go, will you. Ya know, I really DO care. Hugs, Lee
