I feel like I have lost my purpose. Live alone, family is far, feel like I am in a dark hole. Taking dep. meds, but I don't think they've fully kicked in yet. Couldn't get out of bed today - feel like I can't stand on my own 2 feet sometimes...
What's the purpose of life?

OUCH! that's a big one. we each have our own purpose to figure out. I once spoke with a dear friend who had lost 2 kids shortly after birth from a congenital disease and we spoke about the purpose of life for us was being able to live each day with love in our hearts and reach out to others instead of becoming bitter and full of pity. That's what we discussed, we are all different. For me I know that part of my purpose is to love. That may sound lame but the love of one person in my history changed my life and so it goes. It's like the movie pay it forward.

These are just my thoughts, others have other thoughts. I also wanted to say that first of all we need to accept the basic principle that life is suffering. There is no way around it. But we can learn to be with it and be witness as well as friend and the one who screams in pain. All of these things are in each of us.

I have a mission statement.
I will seek a closer relationship with God through prayer, Bible study and service to my fellow man.
I will seek to improve my relationships with others by listening to and spending time with my family, friends and others.
I will improve myself by continually seeking opportunities to learn from others and life situations.

If I recall correctly you have complained about a worsening of the sleeping problem with C-something (anti-depressant). Since you are new on the drug, I would certainly check and see if that is a possible side effect. I think I have read that side effects tend to lessen overtime. I have only just begun to research anti-depressants in prep for talking to T next week. I have been having trouble sleeping for seven months so I know how frustrating that can be.
I hope you find your purpose in life and manage to change what you can to make your life better.
