I think my depression needs a name. Maybe I'll call it Fred. Fred is a royal pain in the backside.

Fred makes sleep hard. He makes my thoughts race. And he is really good at keeping me from getting anything done.

And talk about a buzz kill - Fred is the ultimate wet blanket. I wish it was easy to tell him to he sucks and to take a hike. I hate Fred.

Sounds like a good way to depersonalize depression. Much more productive than hating yourself.

Love it!! Think I will call mine....Doug. No particular reason apart from the fact that Doug dogs my heels :-). Next time I can't sleep because of troubkesome thoughts, I can say "Get lost, Doug!".

You know what I really hate about 'Doug'?? Probably Fred does this too... he works at night behind my back. I work hard during the day doing things to pick myself up - eat well, exercise, visit with positive friends and avoid negative influences like the news where I can.... then during the night he slips in and I wake up depressed. Even when I was feeling ok the night before. He sits on my shoulders so that I struggle to get out of bed and stand up straight. Anyone know what I can do to keep this big black dog away during the night??

Fred sneaks up on me in the evening when my day is winding down.....zapping my energy and ending any positive things I had planned. Fred, you suck!
