I was so happy today. I felt strong for a while and even sort of healthy again. Now it's the middle of the night and I can't sleep. I'm tired but angry and depressed and just don't care if I make it to work. I love life so much but this constant stream of mindnumbing ******** makes life seem so worthless. How can things seem so beautiful but be so empty and pointless? Nothing means anything anymore.

I am sorry you are feeling bad. I struggle to find meaning in anything. I hope someone on here has the right answer for you. Did you make it to work?
Thanks for this!

Maybe try getting involved with doing things for other people. Take time out for family & friends or volunteer somewhere that has you interacting with other people. Sometimes making positive contributions to others' lives can instill joy in your own.

You mentioned that you love life and find it beautiful. Do you think it would help to journal about why you love it and what you find beautiful? You could save those entries to read over when you're feeling down.
Thanks for this!

I woke up on time in the morning and I did make it to work. I didn't get much sleep but I did feel better.

I know exactly how you feel. Often, when I am feeling depressed after a good day, I try to ignore the bad thoughts, and I think about the things that made me happy during that day. I am always here if you need to talk.
Thanks for this!

Hi, I am going through a depressive state again (3rd time) I am on Celexa 40 mg. and Xanax 0.25 every 4 hours. Boyfriend just dropped me again after I took him back after 2 years of not hearing from him which doesn't help my depression. I am also in bad financial debt and am a senior on a fixed income. Can't wait to take the Xanax every 4 hours. Please advise me. Thanks!! FUNGRAMMYBEV

I've tried journal writing before, but not when I'm happy. That sounds like a much better idea than trying to express my self when I'm depressed. I can never find the right words when I'm depressed.

Thanks
