I have fought with depression since I was a child, back when doctors would tell my mother that "KIDS DON'T GET DEPRESSED". I have been hospitalized several times and even Institutionalized a few times. I managed to gt it under control but over the past year I have been having alot of problems with controlling my emotions and the depression has begun to rule my life. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't want to have my wife or children see me as anything less but if something isn't done soon I am afraid of losing it completely!

Welcome, Boncliffkennels!

For long you received no treatment, and then you apparently got a lot of treatment, or at least intense treatment. What's the situation now - how closely are the doctors following you? Have you had a physical check recently to see if anything outside the mental health realm might be playing a part in your current difficulties (e.g. thyroid, etc.)?

I also want to give you some advice but I need to know the answer to Rohag's question first.
