Hi there. I am just coming out of my first depressive relapse in 3 years. This time it lasted 7 weeks but luckily I was able to get through it with a med change and totally out patient. I currently am taking 100mg Pristiq, 15mg Buspar twice a day, 100mg Seroquel and 0.5mg Xanax as needed. The Seroquel is what my doctor added this time and the right dosage is still being worked out. I am not too thrilled with being on so many different meds. Has anyone successfully reduced or gotten off meds all together? It seems like every couple of years the meds stop working and the dosage has to be increased or another med added. I don't want to continue on that trend.

Yes, Crook 32, some of us have been able to decrease dosage and number of medications prescribed, but you should not do it without your doctor's advice and
suggestions after you talk to him/her about it.

I've written so much on the subject. If you will go over to the Bipolar Forum and
look on page 2 or 3 for a thread called "Where To Go When Lamictal is No Longer Enough" by Odee it will give you some helpful hints. Also, on page 1, a response
to "I'm new Here Looking for Advice" has some recommendations. They're both
similar in suggestions.

Take care and look forward to some better times with diet changes and better
feeling tone. I'll check back tomorrow to see if you would like additional information.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
