Iam feeling so depressed and lonely. I am doing everything I can to get help. I go To P doc ,T and 2 different support groups. My doctor just upped my zoloft so I hope thet helps. He does not gice me much for anxiety which I have a lot. I know I would never commit sucide because of my husband and kids but the thought does cross my mind. I read that zoloft can help with that so I am hopefull. I hope someone reads and answere this I have not had much luck on the boards maybe it is the way I write. Since you don't know me it can't be personal. I worrry about everything and will even worrry if no one answeres this

Hi, Shery,
I'm glad to read an update. That sounds hopeful about upping the Zoloft. I didn't have any effect w/ Zoloft, but I wonder should the dr. tried upping the dose before I switched. Now I'm trying Prozac, since 10 days ago. Desperately hoping for an effect. Have you asked the doc if they could prescribe something to help w/ the anxiety too? That's really lucky you have all those things happening - support groups, etc. Sending hugs Gracez |

There has been some controversy surrounding the use of benzodiazepenes for anxiety. I don't know if that is why your Dr. is reluctant to give you something. The benzodiazepenes have a tendency to not only cause dependency, but the body's tolerance tends to advance quickly. There have been reports of withdrawl symptoms while still on the drug because of the tolerance. There is a benzo forum that is connected with this psych forum that has some information concerning benzos. I've been on them and haven't noticed a problem unless i stop them suddenly, but its something to ask your Dr. about.
