I was just prescribed Adderall 15 mg twice a day in an attempt to help my depression. All I feel is tired from it? Why would that be? I am also on Lamictal 300 mg and cymbalta 120mg. My doctor said the adderall should help make my cymbalta work better. Anyone have any experiences with Adderall for depression?

Well its a stimulant so it could be that it's causing your body to use up too much energy to quickly or something. I am not expert so I'd talk to the doctor about it and see what he thinks, maybe adderall and cymbalta isn't the right combination.

These medications always take their share of nutrients from your system when they
are being digested. Look up your medications online and check all of the side effects.
Some sites will tell you which vitamins are being depleted by the use of that med.

For example, strong fatigue hits me on Prozac. The side effects of it are that it
drains the vitamin B6 from the system. So I take a daily supplement of vitamin B6
to counteract the medications use.

You may find a website that will give such helpful information; I hope so, and you
will be able to assist your system to manage the side effects of prescribed and over-the-counter medications.

Take care.

Well I am not on adderall but I am on a stimulant called Nuvigil and I get so darn tired that I can sleep all day, the neurologist says this will go away. I dont know when. wow it knocks me on my butt. I have a friend that can sleep soundly on his adderall also. good luck with the sleep, hopefully it will come.

Hmmm... Odd. I was prescribed adderall for day time insomnia and I think it helps. The only reason I could think of that it would cause sleepiness is that a side effect of cymbalta is that it can cause daytime insomnia. If it's being prescribed as a "booster" drug for cymbalta it is most likely amplifying it. Technically doing it's job for which it was given to you. You may want to tell you doctor about this and ask if it can be lowered a little bit to reduce the side effects while keeping it doing the same thing.

I take adderall 10mg 2x/day "as needed" because I have sleep apnea side effects mostly to help me stay awake during school. I have been taking it for a few months and I'm not sure if it's really working.

Sometimes stimulants can have the opposite effect. Think of giving a kid a Coke -it has caffeine but it calms them down-usually in ADHD. I don't know if that helps but drugs effect people differently. Ive tried Addrerall for attention and noticed it did help depression but had to stop taking due to Headache and high blood pressure. I've also tried Nuvigl and thought it was the best thing ever but just started feeling like I was racing all the time.
