I kinda gave my friend a subliminal message that I had depression. In social studies I told her to come to this site and she did and I took a depression quiz. I answered truthfully and my score was 68. My friend saw my screen and her eyes kinda popped. But she never said anything. ...what's gonna happen? Is she gonna do anything? Also, the person (also someone I know) in front of me heard and she turns around and said " You have no reason to be depressed". No reason? No reason?!?!?!?!?

If she's truly your friend she will support you and be concerned for you. Just like you would be for her. Ignore the other moron.

I agree with lost. It's nobody's business and you don't have to explain yourself to anyone and besides, there is never a sufficient enough explanation anyway. People that don't want to understand never will. I hope it goes all right with your friend. It can be challenging to learn that we are struggling and to not know how it will be received because unfortunately there's so much stigma around mental illness, especially depression. People think it's something you can just 'snap out of' or that it's a 'choice' to not see the 'bright side of life'. Those people should be avoided. That's my experience, anyway. There are plenty of people here who are willing and able to listen, and empathize, and not trivialize what you're going through.

Oh my god you have no idea how annoying it is. My mom told me to snap out of it. Be happy for once. I said no. I can't. She said told me to FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT.

Faking it doesn't help. It just makes you feel worse in the long run.

Yeah, I know. I've tried faking it for too long...I am slipping now. I can't do this much longer.

Yeah it is. It gets extremely tiring, being 'happy' all the time. It's no way to live your life.
