Seems it doesn't matter what I do I always come back round to the feeling of utter, complete futility. I can sing, play the piano, garden, go to Mass, visit with my sisters and at the end of the day it all seems futile. I feel empty. Like some vital part or power is missing. What is the point of life? What are we? What is our purpose? I want so much not to feel so empty.

Have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, but they can't give you a pill to fix it. Started Dialectical Behavioural Therapy this week. Just so, so, so, so, sad. I hope and pray that this helps.

Even if one's life isn't empty, depression diminishes or even eliminates the capacity to feel the fullness.

From what little I know, I believe DBT may help with some of what you are experiencing.
