Another birthday today (57) and I'm as alone as ever. I've never had a girlfriend or had sex. I don't know how much longer I can go on like this. I can only talk to women who I'm not interested in sexually or romantically. In fact, I'd rather talk to them than with any men. But I'm just in some kind of tunnel with no bright light in sight.

My uncle's in the same situation, only that he's almost 53 years old. Be strong! I wish you all the best in finding the courage and self-esteem you need

Birthdays are hell. Have you tried counseling to help you get out there and talk to girls you like and would like to take out. It might help your confidence. It's not too late to find love. You just have to build your confidence.

I know birthdays aren't all pleasant, I feel the same way. But I'd like to send you very best birthday wishes today. Thanks for posting about how you feel.

I'm sorry. I hate birthdays. I'm not even going to pretend to be ok the next time mine rolls around. God, that sucks, I have a feeling that if I get that old I will probably not have had sex either. I don't want to make things worse, but I honestly don't know how you live like that.

The only thing that keeps me going is my 90 year-old mother. I'm doing my best to hang on until she's gone. You sound much younger than myself so I hope you do much better with your life.
