this is more of a debate than anything. im just curious as to what you all think on the subject. i personally believe that it can when used WAY too much. i sometimes try to avoid certain situations and use my laptop as a way to hide, which can also be bad by avoid life experiences, and i always regret missing out in the long run. any thoughts and opinions on the matter?

Guess so for me. I mean when you're feeling down and you go on Facebook... Sometimes seeing your friends happy and satisfied with their life exacerbates that feeling. I guess for us, its knowing when it's okay seeing these things and when it's not so that we don't end up in a crisis.

I feel very mixed about that. The bad side of technology is that I feel like it's isolating. Too many are into cell phones, tweeting, and computers. It's hard to be with people when they are on those things. It's like you can't disturb them.

On the other hand, I think it's great to come to a place like here and express yourself. And knowing that others out there feel the same way.

I think that technology has it's good points, but it does make it much easier to feel isolated and alone and in my case, being BPD, hits my paranoia. On a forum like this, you join to find people similar to yourself, but if not careful, when waiting for replies or expecting someone to say something that will hurt, it can make it worse.

I know after I go on Facebook I feel blah sometimes. I think if we are constantly on our phones and using modern technology 24/7 we start to get depressed due to lack of outside activity and sunlight. It's just something I've noticed.
