I just started going to my school's counseling center. I had my intake appointment yesterday and I have another appointment on Wednesday. I don't really know what to expect. I don't think I'm really expecting much out of this, but I really don't want to be how I am anymore. It sucks.

Hi Blackfeather, welcome to PC. I also felt unsure of what to expect when I started therapy. Therapy is work, and that's something that took me a while to understand. The therapist is there to help and guide you, but you have to do your part too. A therapist that you get along with and trust is very important, so use these sessions to gauge how you feel about your counselor. Good luck to you.

I started out in therapy by going to the school therapist and nurse on campus. I went utill thingsgot worse and they sent me to a therapist and doctor off campus.

Things went better with the school therapist then I expected. Just give it a chance they may surprise you, plus the know if thingsare more than they can handle they can send you to the right person to help you better.
