i just need to vent because of the last two days of work have been hell working with people who don't want to follow our behavior system they don't want to do their job and have no idea what is going on around them has put more work on people like me (people who do their job) the principle keeps giving us more work on top of more work and doesn't seem to realize that some people are doing nothhing i mean we have an art teacher who has no clue a fight would break out in his class and he never knew it even happened he also doesn't notice kids missing from his class it is driving me nuts besides the fact that i tell the principle some of the stuff and he does nothing it is a very frustrating environment and i can't figure out what to do my goodness i don't know how you can take a job where it requires you to do certain things then you don't do these things i don't get it............. out of ways of dealing with this stress i am going to wind up snapping at a co worker hey maybe thats what needs to be done for some people to wake up?

I try to let go of those things that cause me so much stress, but that I can do nothing about--like trying to correct another person's behavior. I once wrote a nasty note to a co-worker cuz she was making so many mistakes that I had to correct. Needless to say, it didn't go over well. I saw that I was making the situation even worse by having her mad at me so I apolgized & told her I had just been having a bad day.--Suzy

suzy - i normally do let things go you kknow but it all just starts building up i never really say anything directly to them unless they say something inappropriate to me then it all comes out but the thing is that the school is very small only 35 kids and 22 staff so when one person doesn't do their job it is felt by everyone in the school thats what sucks

With it being such a small school I can see how each person is an integral part & must do his/her share. Do you think the others are aware of the problem? Maybe it can be addressed not coming from you but from a superior. --Suzy

suzy- wouldn't that be nice!
people know except maybe those not doing anything we have spoken to the principal and he generalizes everything so of course those not doing anything don't feel like he is talking to them it sucks that you have to be so blunt with people or they don't realize it is getting really bad at work that i can feel something is about to happen between someone and i hope that its not me we had our 5 schools meet yesterday and the four principals spoke beautifully about there staff and our principal gets up there and says something about our art teacher (who is one of the people who do nothing) and does not mention anyone else all the other schools were surprised and we were insulted so not really looking forward to work these days and its a shame cause it was never like that and i feel bad for the kids

Ah... the game of politics! It can be very frustrating.
You need to remember that those are external stressors that you cannot control but you can control how you feel, react and think. Your passion is towards the children... then focus on that and who cares what anyone else did or didn't do? Focus on your goal! Maybe you're frustrated because your efforts aren't recognized but you also need to realize that perhaps even with all of your good intentions... that your approach to the issue maybe misunderstood by them. You are emotional and passionate about it and it wouldn't be the first time that people misunderstand your intent. You can learn to accept that those people are morons and you can refocus your energy into a positive outlet - caring for the children. Be a Rosa Parks & don't conform or get swayed by gvt politics! |

bluefacez- boy you hit it right on the nose me being misunderstood is common which is why i stay out of it a lot of times but the problem is that it is starting to effect my kids because if other classes aren't doing what they are suppose to be doing it screws up my kids because they know whats goin on and then the social workers aren't clear about whats happening in my class so they screw up and then we have to go and undo something which then the child gets mad its a cycle......
but you are right outside stressers usually i vent and then im ok but when it starts to seep into my class then im not ok and then people vent to me because i never really know what is going on in other classes then i start to get aggrevated again.uuuuugh!
