Im a drug addict. I was already depressed before this. Now i have stooped to new lows. I know lots of people have worse and more serious things to be depressed about. But depression is depression regardless of the reason.Sure wish life was a little different. But it is what it is. Best wishes to everyone with depression, it's tough !

You are completely right - no matter what has brought a person there depression is still difficult to manage and no-one deserves to have to go through those lows.

Hang in there.

Depression is depression no matter how you got there. I recall the first time I was hospitalized was around 1987. Doctors were scrambling to discover what came first, my depression or my drug addition, which caused which? As if it mattered. It's a classic case of which came first the chicken or the egg. It doesn't matter. Each can breed the other! The result is the same. Need to treat both. In my case it was the depression came first. And it made no difference in my treatment whatsoever

No need to feel ashamed. We all fall for one reason or another.
