Ive recently been confronted by a bully Irl ..... And I tried to be respectful. But really why bother. I need more skills in my tool box to deal with people who are unable to (or too selfish to) respect others. Growl!

Actually, I've always managed bullies fairly well but I think I always feel like a dirty afterward. ;-(

How do you deal with them? tell them to **** off?

I wish I had I'm far too "nice" sometimes, I'm DONE with being trampled on

Abusers and bullies can go **** themselves

Sometimes that's exactly what you have to do. I don't like when I run across bullies. Or people who abuse animals. I could get on my soap box if I'm not careful.

Playing 'nice', only goes so far. I'm sorry, you had to deal with one.
Something, clicked with me, over the past couple of years, where rudeness and bullies go.
It's not quite a 'go eff urself' attitude, but it's one where, I no longer give them power to hurt me. Oh, I'll still get angry, my reaction won't be an angry reaction...either a certain, not quite blank stare, more Robert DiNero,, 'are you, talking to me?' Type look, or little, bite back expressions.
End goal, an assertive type reaction, that defends myself, and they still remain the*insert word*

Bullies feed off of the reaction. Sure the alternative is to give them a reaction that will scare the crap out of them but that could land you in the ****.

Generally speaking I don't rise to the bait of verbal bullying... If you can keep calm and shield your triggers then you are giving them nothing to suckle on.

Physical bullying is another matter and I can't really advise on that. Fortunately I've got a kinda sheep in wolfs clothing manner about me so peops leave me be.

I'm sorry. I thought No bullies was supposed to be one of the few perks of being an adult. Unfortunately, I find ignoring is the best I can do because I drive myself crazy when I try to change someone else's behavior. Grrrrr.

Agreed. Also, several different species of bullies walk the earth. Fuzzybear, what kind of bully is this?

Ha-ha, that's a good one! Some people never graduate high school or even junior high, for that matter.
