Ok, it seems like new stuff is going on everyday. Well, I haven't moved in with my boyfriend yet. We are looking for a place. He has his own place and he's telling me to move my stuff in there. I'm going to try to stick it out here at least till the end of the week. I'm really confused, becasue my dad hasn't said anything since monday about me moving out and then today i found out that he claimed me on his taxes as a dependent, because i decided to go to college full time last year. I'm confused though, becasue i payed for those college classes and books. Well, anyway, he did say that he will give me the college refund part back. Which is what i'm really confused about... if i move out.. is he still going to give me that money back? I don't want to ask him because i'm afraid of starting an argument, and pushing my luck..at him saying get out now. Well anyway, I'm moving out regardless. I should be out no later than April. (hopefully sooner) I'm really confused though because that's 1,500 dollars and i could defently use that money. I'm going to talk to my fiancee about this and see what he thinks, but i'm afraid that he is not going to be too happy about it either and we are going to spend a lot of time with me listening to him tell me how much he can't stand my dad. I appraciate that he sees things my way, but at the same time sometimes he doesn't stay focused on actually comming up with a plan of action. Well, I could complain and complain but i think that is enough for now. Oh and i finally came to the conclusion the other day that there must be hope in this world. I see happy customers all the time at work, and I'm sure that a lot of those people have gone through there share of problems in there lives. If they can be happy, then that defintly means there is hope for me. Well, i think this is better than me hating it every time someone smiles.

Audrey,

My parents kept claiming me on their taxes too until I got married. Even after I had left and they didn't help me with college expenses at all. Them claiming me also cut my financial aid because I was required to report their income and they dragged their feet sending the information, so my financial aid application was always late. That cost me about $3000 per year right there.

Don't let them hold you back. Unsupportive parents may make it harder to get where you want to be, but if you keep trying you'll make it anyway.
