I seem to feel somewhat better at night but then dread getting up again the next morning. I think part of it has to do with knowing I'll be going to bed soon and can escape the pressures of the world better lying in bed.
I actually think I don't need help at night sometimes, but when it's time to get up in the morning I realize that another stress-filled day is waiting, and it's all I can do to get up. Sometimes I just go back to bed, and there are days when I do this a few times before I can muster enough strength to stay up. Do others feel like this sometimes? |

Yes. Escaping my anxieties through sleep is something I do when I'm deep into one low-times. I also feel very lethargic; getting up takes me forever. I sometimes have to force myself to do the most basic tasks, including eating. You are certainly not alone in experiencing these symptoms.

Hello and welcome to Psych Central movingdepression.
Yes I have had days like that. I am a lot better than I was. Its still hard to get out of bed in the morning but I do, thankfully. When I was really bad. It would take me 2 hours to get up and when I did I would have a cup of coffee and go back to bed for most of the day.The night were the worst for me. This does happen to me. I usually wake up around 4:00 a.m., get coffee then go back in my bed (not back to sleep) until 6:30 or 7:00 mainly because I have no reason to be out of bed so early.
Lately, I've been going in bed around 6:00 p.m. but not taking my nighttime medication until 9:00 p.m. Just don't feel like staying out of bed after the evening news for some reason. This is what depression looks like for me lately. A whole lot of nothing going on, except the bare minimum. |

Yes! You just want to lay in bed all day and shut the world out. Afraid to face the day
