My depression seems to be getting worse each day. I feel like I can't take this much longer. I know I won't hurt myself, but I am faced with these feelings of despair nearly every waking moment.
No matter what I try, or who I talk to (including therapist), or what I do, the depression lingers. I recently tapered off of viibryd and have now been on Prozac 20 mg for not quite a week. Going up to 40 mg next Tuesday. It seemed to help me a lot in the past. I am crying so much lately. I feel desperate for relief from this pain. Just wanted to get this out. How long do I give the new medication before it's time to try another antidepressant? Thanks for reading. |

I am very glad that you say you will not harm yourself. It is my prayer that your statement is truth.
I am no expert at meds or the body.... but my understanding is most of these drugs take 6-8 WEEKS before they build up enough in your system to help. Sorry I could not be of more help. *HUGS to you. |

Hope you feel better soon. Prozac was good to me, it took a couple of weeks to feel better
