I thought I should post here. I have made the first step and scheduled an appt with my GP but can't get in till the New Year.

I posted on the other medical board. Here is what I wrote ...

I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought here would be best.

I am in my mid 30's, happily married with 5 children (ranging from 16-4). I run an in home daycare (6am-5:30pm) for five kids, 2 in school and 3 home (12m, 23m, 3y).

I have been feeling off for a few years now. By off I mean just exhausted and despite sleeping am just wiped and can't get out of bed. I am restless at night but always just assumed that to being a light sleeper due to small kids. I sought out a Doctors help to deal with the weird pains I have in my feet, hands and hip. The Dr would do a battery of tests which all seemed fine. So was refered to a new Dr which would do the same. Now after seeing 5 Drs (clinic, family, neurologist, rheumatologist) they all seemed to think Lupus, arthritis ... yet they all scratched there heads and sent me off to a new Dr. The latest was the rheumatologist who has now said maybe a bone density test?

Past History that could possible point in the direction of depression. I never dealt with the issues but never thought I had an issue with them. make sense?
-sexually assaulted while babysitting (age 12?)
-sexually assaulted (age 15 by 2 boys in my class)
-boyfriend physically and emotionally abused me for 4yrs (16yr old dad - no contact though ever)
- 8 miscarriages (4-15wks)
- baby born at 21wks from Anencephaly
- 16yr old is on wait list to be assessed for Autism (1.5yrs to go ...sigh) was originally diagnosed with ADHD but they just changed that after me fighting for 6yrs with them. Also just had Educational assessment done after waiting 7yrs which helped get the referral

Medical Issues
- joint pain in wrists, hands, feet and hip
- weight gain over the year 30lbs.
- sleep issues, always tired
- constant headaches
- migraines
- feel sick all the time
- not interested in things. Can't get motivated to wrap Christmas presents or even bake.
- yelling and extremely impatient with everyone
- on the verge of tears by the end of the day when my 7yr old isn't listening
- no sex drive at all (tmi sorry)

Help, has anyone gone though anything like this?
I feel like I'm slipping through the cracks!

I just finished driving my daughter to preschool and the post has brought a rush of all the old emotions back. My eyes welled up and I almost burst into tears driving.

ETA: I took the depression quiz on the site.
I scored 58

With all you have been through physically and mentally, I don't think it is that suprising that you are showing signs of depression. Talk to your doctor about your depressive feelings and maybe think about seeing a therapist to help you get through some of your issues with talk therapy. Good luck.

Good job making the appt. Even though its just the first step it can still be a challenge. You've been through a lot and being able to talk about it with someone can really help. I hope you are able to find someone to help, with both your depression and physical problems. I know how frustrating both can be.
