It is difficult to be said, but I know that I will probably have a hard 2014. Conditions are given for that. It will take time to get my pension (it will be derived from my deceased father social security contributions). Meanwhile, I am without health insurance until this pension issue gets sort. It will take time for the family house to be sold so I can get my share and buy a little house for me and my animals. In the meantime, I have to live with my brother who has an untreated personality disorder. In order to avoid conflicts, as his condition makes him to be often aggressive and abusive, and because despite having promised to pay some bills, he has let those bills unpaid in the past, I am paying all the bills. It is being hard on my economy, but it is all I can do for now. I cannot afford the psychiatry visits I requested. Still, I guess I can use the public service, but it is difficult and expensive for me to transfer to the public mental health hospital in the area given my disability. I try to be regularly at home as my brother takes opportunity to steal or destroy stuff when I am absent. Last time, he stole my sowing machine. I got him to bring it back (I think he had sold it but he finally returned the machine to me). Returning the machine took a lot of time and arguments, he threaten me, and sent several ugly text messages to me, but I insisted and finally he got the machine back. I am not sure he still on drugs or not. I requested the provincial state to help me to have him treated or evicted but it has not worked, so far, I guess because I do not have a crony in the justice system. I live in a corrupt country. It is not nice to live with my brother, but I will have to do it during 2014, I guess.
I am trying to make a detailed plan, first time in my life because I do not like very detailed plans for the future. I think it is the only way I can cope, but I am not sure.
I am thinking that I should plan, once the house can be sold, to buy a house in a small town because here it will be not possible. Houses are very expensive and my share is not that big. But leaving the city scares me a bit. I will have to buy a car, as well. Anyway, somehow I feel sad because I know that I have a hard year to come.
Thank you for listening!

l am sorry that when you look ahead, life appears difficult. Are there any hobbies you enjoy? You mentioned your sewing machine, what do you make with it? Soup

It sounds like it will be a very challenging New Year for you. Even though it does cause you some anxiety now, I think creating a detailed plan for next year sounds like a great concept. As for your brother, don't give up trying to get assistance; you never know when you'll run across that one caring individual inside a corrupt system.

Thank you guys! I will follow your advice, Mariposa. And yes, Soup, I like music and playing guitar, I have to play guitar again, I should put that in my plan, too, thanks a lot for the idea!

Clara, 2014 is not going to be an easy year for me either, I have a decision to make and that is not going to be easy to accomplish. Having a plan is an excellent start just please remember that sometimes the best laid plans fall apart. If it does you have to remember to pull yourself up and make another plan and start over. Don't let any pitfalls that may occur hold you back. I wish the best for you in 2014 and I hope all goes well, you already have made a huge step in the right direction!!!

Thank you, Martek! you are right, that is why I do not like to make detailed plans, because they fall apart, but this time I think I have to do it, I wish you the best with your decision, too

hello Clara, Yes 2014 will bring a lot of change to your life but, it may no be all bad. I know we have to make certain plans in our lives, but maybe not so detailed. Sometimes we set out plans with the very best of intentions (I know I do it myself) and they can all fall apart. Your brother is not going to get any better, I dont need to tell you that. Your goals are attainable Clara, but dont rush into buying a house. There are a lot of things that you have to consider. I think you a marvellous person, and you always have a positive spin on things, and that is one of your many strengths. Best Wishes Clara.

Making a plan is already a step in the right direction. Don't let the obstacles hinder your plan, or drag you down. However be open that plans don't necessarly occur the way it was mapped out, hope it goes better than that. Good luck.

Hi~

Clara, you are looking forward to many hoped-for positive changes...most especially being free from living with your 'emotionally disabled' difficult brother. I wish you the very best, most especially in that one particular thing getting done ASAP and without complications ~ I wonder if some if your sadness right now is due to worry about truly being free of living with him? Possibly also of his having to finally take care if himself? I hope you look forward to not worrying about him...

Just wanted to also add that moving to a new area will mean having to really learn what neighborhoods are good for you...so, I 'second' the advice on best to not rush into buying a house unless you know for certain you really like the town & neighborhood. If you need to get a feel for a town before buying, perhaps you can rent a small place temporarily after passing the big hurdle of getting the house you now share all settled?

Chloe

Hi Chloe,
I think you are right, i do not have to rush, although renting may not be possible as i need adapted housing and here it is impossible to get, you have to do it yourself
