Well, believe it or not, today (New Year's Day) is my birthday. It's about the end of the day now at this writing (5 PM) and not much has happened. I'm pretty much alone. I had lunch and some time with one friend of mine. It was OK but I felt like he said some things to me that I didn't care to hear about myself. Apparently he does not understand me very well, especially with my depression. So far, that's been the highlight of my day.

Other than that a friend of mine (long distance) called me while I was out. I had to call him back. I was a little bit miffed that I had to call him because it costs money for long distance for me. We had a pretty good talk, but it did get depressing because the both of us were talking about our health issues.

There's another friend of mine that I don't see very often and we don't talk very often. He called me a couple of days ago, much to my surprise. I told him that my birthday is today. He said that he would like to get together with me. I really like getting together and talking to him more than the other friend that I have. Because this friend understands me more and we have things in common. But I have not heard from him. So I guess that's out. He is a very busy guy, though. But still it would have been nice to get together.

I guess this day is winding down and that's the way it will be. It's like on my birthday, "is that all there is" or is this as good as it gets?"

Happy Birthday!!! I am sorry today has been less than an idea B-Day. Can you call your friend, and talk to him? Maybe today was really hectic? Even so, I see why it would be disappointing. Is there something that you could do to lighten your spirits? Maybe watch a comedy? Or something else? Is there anyone on PC that you like talking with, and could brighten your mood? Sorry, not very good advice, but nonetheless feel free to PM me.

Happy Birthday, Will19!

Having a birthday during what is generally a busy time of year for many people is, as Smmath puts it, less than ideal. I hope you can have a more satisfying post-birthday birthday. (I'm vaguely aware some people with birthdays on holidays push their celebration forward or back 1-2 weeks.)

Happy Birthday Will19!

I'm sorry this was not one of your best to remember, but hope the year ahead will be better. Maybe you can call someone that you would like to spend time with and plan something? Hope your wishes come true.

I understand how you feel. At times I feel depressed when my birthday comes around. I try to have the mentality that "it's my day and I don't want to let anything rain on my parade". Sometimes it helps me feel better. Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday!
Your Birthday is still a special day, worthy of recognition and acknowledgement.
But I also know how depression can build up or even just suddenly appear.
Being alive is still the best thing there is.
Sorry if this sounds trite.
Still, Happy Birthday!
