I just wanted to vent.
I'm feeling really low, the depression has been building over the last few months.
I feel stressed about everything but I know it's irrational.
I just want to hide and cry all day, I feel so alone.
My T suggested a long time ago, maybe I should star Prozac but I'm scared in case it makes me feel worse (as it seems it can with some people)
I can't cope with worse. I can't with how I am now.
I wish I could write something cheerful but I can't I'm sorry

You are free to vent.

Meds works differently on different individual, it's really hard to say.
May be you and your T (therapist?) can discuss about what to do, of different situation in result of taking the meds.
Thanks for this!

If you have not been on meds before I suggest you keep an open mind about what med might be right for you. While they can't cure the depression they can help control it and make it easier to stay stable.

Hi,
I did prozac in the past and it was very good for me. I am not on meds right now just because i moved back to my country a year ago and have not gotten a psychiatrist here yet. It is very painful to me to start with a new doctor (speaking about me face to face is too painful), plus i have had several problems including losing my health insurance lastly. But, again, prozac worked very well for me in the past.

I am sorry you are suffering. The meds can help with that and you won't know what works for you until you try. It can be an exhausting process but if you can find something that works for you to break through what your feeling, it's necessary.

Prozac was a great antidepressant for me for many, many years. With a new bout of depression, I just restarted it a couple of weeks ago.

l tried Prozac last year, after being too scared to try them for the same reasons you give. l stopped taking it, not because it made me feel worse, but because it did nothing. l then took Citalopram which did make me feel worse and stopped that too. l guess what l am saying is even if it makes you feel worse, or does nothing IMO it is worth a try, as for some people it can be helpful. And if it doesn't help you can just stop taking it.

l also know that feeling of feeling unsafe if it gets any worse. It always does pass, so hang on in there. Soup

Sorry you're feeling so low. I've been there and know how painful it can be. I started taking prozac earlier this year and it has been good. I've tried a few different meds, and so far prozac has been the most helpful. Like someone said, meds don't cure depression, but they can help make the day-to-day manageable. I was a little hesitant to start meds, but I figured I didn't have much to lose. I hope you find something that helps.
