My therapist said that there's really nothing she can do for me anymore, that we might as well be done. I guess I agreed and allowed her to end it. She said she was sorry. Oh well, guess that's that.

If my T told me that I would agree that it is time to find another T. Good Luck!
Thanks for this!

Poppy Princess, how do you feel about that?
I imagine that if my T said that to me I would feel pretty mixed up..
Hope you are OK

Sorry to hear that Poppy. Will you try to find another T?

I keep waiting for my therapist to say the same type of thing, when in reality I know he'll hang in there with me even though we're getting nowhere.
Thanks for this!

If your therapist is dismissing/terminating you and you still need help, then please do seek out another therapist. I think therapy is not only important, but essential.

I agree this is its own kind of progress -- knowing what and who doesn't help can be a step toward what and who does.

Poppy Princess, did your former T share anything about the approach or model she was using? In the future you can say, "They tried therapeutic approach X, and it did not work." Saves time, money and effort...

Wow, what a harsh thing to hear from your therapist! That T may have helped you all she can but that doesn't mean that no one else can. Did she recommend anyone?

Thats a blow to someone's self esteem. I am sorry to hear that it ended like this. How are you doing?
