To serve as a warning to others!

... well at least I can still laugh at myself. That has to account for something. Now I know the purpose of my existence.

Humor does help. I look back & can laugh about some of the "crazy" things I did while manic--buying an $800.00 vacuum cleaner, gold-plated tweezers...--Suzy

What's wrong with those purchases Suzy, I'm not even manic and I have a picture of the encyclopedia salesman trying to sell me (he was cute :-)

What was I watching the other night? "Bridget Jones Diary" I guess, and someone made some comment like, "Just because you're depressed doesn't mean you can't have a sense of humor."

When I get really low I do start thinking of Jimmy Stewart and "It's a Wonderful Life" and that maybe there is a good purpose for me somewhere, even as a good example of something.

That would be one hell of a vacuum cleaner. I did the same thing myself here, paid $1000 AUD for one. Mostly because my old one decided to stop working and I was just angry. So I decided to buy a decent one, rather than the crap branded ones I was getting before. Just happened to buy a top of the line one and its been working well ever since.

As for my humour... well it's all I got these days. That any my virginity, which I can't seam to get rid of. I can't even give it away! Now I know the purpose of my existence.

OK, well you all may know from the above post that I tend to make fun of myself. However I think someone has just crossed the line. Over on the gaming forums www.notaddicted.com, I was commenting on a "games in girls" forum topic. Anyway, the topic sort of gotten off track and we ended up talking about how only total losers go to see prostitutes for their first time.

Long story short, one of the people there basically told me that I was a total looser, go see a working girl or just blow my brains out with a Berretta and be done with the problem once and for all.

Now, I can usually take a joke at my expense, since there is lots of things about be people tend to laugh at, but this sort of crossed the line. I do tend to think about suicide a fair bit in my day, but I usually have the mental reserves of strength to shrug it off. This time, hearing it coming from a complete stranger, it carries significantly more weight.

I guess in time the shock will pass, but you never really know the extent of your problems until you have them mirrored back to you by someone else. So, maybe I am F.I.T.H. ( %#@&#! In The Head ) after all?

I'm sorry that someone suggested that to you, and glad you won't be hearing that from someone here! Don't let it carry any weight at all, for obviously that is HIS issue, and not yours. Now I know the purpose of my existence.

I don't think you need to hear that stuff...and hope you can have good responses no matter what site you are on (though I doubt you will receive the support you get here Now I know the purpose of my existence. )

I understand how people, such as yourself, that carry the suicidal ideation can easily be pushed over that line of no return. Remember, it was just a comment, really...just words. I think you could, later on, address why it affected you so...was there something other than the suicidal effort that struck home, do you think? But don't do this now, when you are so vulnerable.

Stick around PC more, at least till you feel comfortable in your own skin again, ok? Now I know the purpose of my existence.

I'm so sorry Ripperjack,
This is awful. That person should have never said that to you. Please, please, please, don't believe what those words say.

It's one thing to joke around, but I don't seem the humor in this joke.

Take care of yourself,
LInda
