I went thru a really bad depression experience for several months,

then amazingly, the other day I woke up feeling good. For no reason, no change, nothing that made any difference. What's going on. Sunspots or something? No idea.

I don't expect it to last, but it's nice for now.

Anyone else ever have this?

I've never experienced this, but I've heard about it.

It is said that our mood and emotions are affected by the chemicals (neurotransmitters) in our brains. Too high of one chemical can cause people to feel 'low', while having too much of another chemical can cause people to feel 'high'. People with depression often have a constant surplus of one chemical which leads to the constant low mood. People with bipolar one the other hand, have chemical fluctuations which causes them to experience swinging between high and low moods.

I'm not sure if any of this information is accurate, but perhaps you're just experiencing a chemical fluctuation in your brain?

Whatever the case, enjoy that awesome good feeling while you can! And hopefully, it'll last
Thanks for this!

I read in the DSM IV that's mic depression can be over days months or years. So, you can click along and then BAM. I suffer from MDD anyway so I understand that feeling. Have you had someone diagnose?

I have had it happen. I was in a severe depression for six months and all of a sudden it was like a switch went off in my brain and I was totally better. It lasted four months and then sliding back into depression. It was definitely like some circuit in my brain just started working.
