Hi Everyone,
I'm having a lot of issues with depression (I think), and I've started to look for a therapist, but I'm having issues finding one that seems to fit. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I've called a few places that didn't even call me back, which obviously puts a bad vibe on things. I'm also at a loss because my work is normally about 8am-5pm, M-F and I can't really miss. Are there therapists that will see you after hours? I'm so tired of feeling like this, but this search is wearing on me too. Any advice on how you found your therapist (if you have one)? I know I need help soon because I feel like I'm really hurting my relationship with my immediate family. Thanks! |

Hi! Looking for a therapist can be very difficult. If you google "finding a therapist" there are tons of sites to get you started. Search based on what you're looking for specifically and then read their bios to get a feel for which ones you'd think would be a better fit. I email or call next and just wait for replies. If they didn't respond they aren't worth the trouble. Make sure when they call you back to pay a lot of attention on how they respond to you, if your gut says no then definitely listen to it.
And once you find a therapist that you're willing to meet with you can really work it out with them. They might go until 6:30pm or maybe you can go in an hour early and leave an hour early at work? That's what I did. Best of luck! I hope you find your T soon! ![]() |
