Ever have one of those days when you're sick and it kind of takes your mind off your depression a little? So you're actually relieved to be sick?

I am kind of experiencing that now. I have a cold, and it kind of takes my energy away, so I personally don't have the energy to self harm. So, I see where you are coming from.

Yes I do. Depression for me is total and all-encompassing. Which is why I concluded that there is only one way out.
Before, I could never understand suicide and self-harm, but now I completely do. (As an aside, I have learned something new. And that's not a bad thing) So, yes, anything (relatively harmless) that gives you an escape is a welcome relief.... |

It makes it easier a little by giving you a physical response of not feeling well which helps give a more "viable" excuse to stay in bed and rest. That's what it feels like for me anyway. I can forget about my other problems and just focus on recovery. If only it were so easy for depression right?
