Yet another financial disaster. No, I can't take it. Is it possible to find a therapist who can actually help me to tolerate financial problems? What do you do? Does it really help?

I'm on SSDI and there just isn't enough money to survive. And I just don't care any more. I can't deal with these intense episodes any more.

Right there with you. I'm fifty and still have to ask my parents for, of all things, parts of my future share of their will. Most humiliating. Everytime I think I'll be able to get into work enough to pay my bills, another health issue puts me down. Being able to work without pain would be a dream.

There probably are therapists that will help people manage their finances. Of course they will charge. Sorry for the sarcasm. Not fond of shrinks.

Were it not for my friends letting me live with them, I would be on the street. Literally.

Seriously, a lack of finances is terrifying. When you have no savings, no job, nothing of any value its hard. All you can do is spend as little as you can on everything. I'm still wearing the pants I got for school 20 years ago.

Use coupons, goodwill and any other short cut you can think of. At the end of the day, thank God you have a roof over your head.

Much of the time. The meds and frugality are key.

I don't know if the following would be interesting reading to you.....It's a UK publication and so some of the resources may not apply to you, but it may help you feel a little more in control.
