I have been battling my depression and some anxiety for the past several months. This winter has been awful and is a major factor in how I feel. My pdoc and tdoc have been encouraging me to not isolate and I've been trying. Some days are easier than others, but the stress I've been dealing with has left my immune system somewhat non-existent. It seems anytime I'm around anyone who is sick I catch what they have.

I regularly volunteer at an animal rescue, but I have had to call off so many of the shifts I have signed up for I felt it necessary to let the director know that I was under some stress and that was effecting my health, but that I still absolutely love being a part of the organization.

I am just so frustrated!!! I want this winter to be over. I want to see the sun more than I see clouds. I want to open my windows and let fresh air in. I want to not have to bundle up each time I go outside. I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. And I really want to not be constantly sick. Aaaarrrggghhhh!

OK. Done venting.

Thanks for this!

You can find full spectrum light bulbs for lamps and overhead fixtures. That helps some people with winter related depression. The light they give off mimics the sun, and although it doesn't look any different than the average lightbulb, there have been studies done that indicate they help a large percentage of people.

I have this light and use it everyday. I tend to have breakthrough episodes.
