I tripped Wednesday evening and fell hard with my head on the hard-wooden doorstep. Result: a fairly deep gash through/along my eyebrow and a very mild concussion.

I am "semi-psychotic" (not sure about the correct term in English), with the symptoms being directly affected by, among other things, thinking about trauma.
Therapy on Tuesday majorly triggered the symptoms and they were worse than I'd had them in a long time.

But Wednesday after the fall and Thurdsday - the symptoms were gone. I haven't experienced such relief in a long, long time.

The concussive symptoms are almost gone now - only light sensitivity remains - and the symptoms are playing up again, but they aren't as bad as they were. I've never been so glad for a bump on my head before.

Do you think yr concussion triggered psychotic symptoms or is it the trauma yr dealing with? Maybe a little bit of both? I'm so sorry that you fell. That's scarey!

Just before Christmas I had the same experience as you, falling & hitting my head on a step, followed by concussion. It really freaked me out, don't understimate the effect of trauma. I got better in about a week and my scar is now almost invisible. Look after yourself.

No, the concussion made the psychotic symptoms go away.

Hi, breadfish,

I'm sorry you've the mild concussion to deal with now.
I hope that you are taking good post-concussive care. It can be tricky.

I highly recommend to your attention the companion site Neurotalk and the TBI-PCS threads therein. It is excellent and headed by Dr. John Grohol of psych central here. Good luck.
