I can't be the only one:
My mom has just now started looking for signs of depression. Like, seriously, you're about six months late. The only reason she is starting now is because around my age now is when my sister started feeling depressed. Um, can you not base my feelings on my sister whom I barely see? Aparently not. But, I guess I shouldn't be complaining too much. Only question is: When should I just come out with the fact that I'm depressed? Like, I don't want to do it when my dad is home, but he is always home when my mom is home. I don't want to do it in public, because I'll cry. My mom is barely home and I don't want to tell her through a phone call. This is difficult, to work around schedules. Help? |

Hello there and welcome to Psych Central! Well if your Mom is already interested then now may be the time. You could casually reply that you have been feeling low for a while. Do you think she will be supportive of you? Sometimes family are not so good at understanding. In any case please share with someone you trust, life does not need to be so painful, there is help. Hugs
