Hello all,

I, like most of you, are depressed. Just admitting that is hard for me. However it is true. I am very depressed it takes a lot out of me just to get myself up every morning and come to work. No one knows how bad it really is… I have shut myself off from almost everyone and it has cost me a few friendships along the way. I am here for help and guidance. I would like to lead a better, happier life. I hope that I can be helped and help someone in the process.

Welcome, Kmd0022. My regrets over the recent passing of your grandmother. Has grief played a role in pushing you deeper into depression? (Feel free to ignore the questions.) Have you ever been treated for depression?

Please try to make yourself at home.

Hi kmd...

I am glad you are here. Reaching out in any way is a good step to take. Other than coming here, what have you done to cope? I know exactly how you feel when you say how hard it is to get up and get ready for work. It is like walking through mud.

I am going through a similar thing right now and one thing I find that really helps is to simplify my life as much as possible, just focusing on the basics- food, clothing, shelter. I don't take on anything extra that I don't have to and I allow myself some extra indulgences to make life a bit easier (a few more prepared foods in the kitchen for example, rather than cooking from scratch all the time, which I would normally do). Schedule lots of rest and little things that are good for your soul- a walk outside with a friend, a pedicure, whatever does it for you.

Take care, and keep posting
