I came across this article about the benefits of magnesium on the brain, mood, and the ability to focus, I found out that we are most lacking this supplement, most of us are magnesium deficient.

Anyone happen to know this and is taking tablets of magnesium? Did it work for you?

I think I’m going to give a try.

Let me know if this works for you. I do know that taking magnesium can cause diarrhea, but I am not sure at what dosage this is known to occur.

I think my multivitamin has some magnesium in it, but I have not taken it separately. Do you think you might need to ask a doc or pharmacist about it first?
Thanks for this!

I have heard the same for vitamin D and take it. Especially in northern climates.

I have heard some stuff about magnesium but have not researched it. Seems to me it was supposed to be better for anxiety but I can't remember.

I only know Epsom Salts (MgSO<\subscript>4) as a cure for constipation LOL. Maybe it cures "constipation" of the mind too (i.e. depression)! I know my mom also takes Mg supplement for muscle cramps.

Here's some more info (altho yeah, I probably repeated alot of Glok's, so, oops...) :

Magnesium Supplements: Benefits, Deficiency, Dosage, Effects, and More

"Magnesium is also the main ingredient in many antacids and laxatives." EEK.

Aaand that's why I won't take it, although it was suggested to me for help with anxiety/depression. I know there is already some in my multivitamin. If you can, I think the healthiest way (as usual) is the increase your intake of foods with a higher magnesium content (some are listed in the above info.)

WebMd does say if you take proton pump inhibitors on a long-term basis that your dr. might need to test your magnesium level.
