Hi all,
I have been making a concious effort in the last few weeks to try and relieve some symptoms but keeping fit and eating foods with tryptamine (not magic mushrooms) and general salad and protein meals. Both have not helped clear the fog cast over my ability to enjoy allowing myself to be healthy. Even sitting in the sun for half an hour a day is not making me feel any different. -any one else experiencing this? I started this self improvement idea about three weeks ago. I cannot come off of my medication, because it semi blocks my ability to think damaging and self destructive thoughts although these have become far worse. I am moving slowly even when walking, cycling or swimming, delayed reactions, dark circles around eyes, memory loss - i know this is a ssri side effect, but my mood is what is important and it is only about to explode onto someone and harm me or others, and trying my upmost to prevent it. I have another three weeks to go before CAT therapy, so it is a struggle to say the least, and i'm putting that lightly. Is anyone going through this, can anyone offer advice? ![]() ![]() |

are doing these things making you feel good about yourself? think about the thoughts actions feeling cycle. when you think negative thoughts, you will take negative actions and feel bad about yourself. conversely, if you think positive thoughts, you will take positive actions and feel good about yourself raising your self esteem. so if you do good, enjoy what you are doing, you are going to feel good. contributing to your overall health as well. so focus on doing positive things that make you feel good. take care.

More proof that healthy diet and exercise do not cure depression...they can help with stagnation that can come with depression but doesn't make the depression go away.
I certainly know the feeling of doing things I have enjoyed and then getting no enjoyment whatsoever from it. It seems like you might want to talk to your doctor about your meds and side effects, SSRI's don't help everyone, in my experience they have made my anxiety symptoms especially worse....maybe there is a better more efficient med they could have you try.

Same here....I exercise and eat well. I feel very low energy that has only increased over time. Sigh.

Hellion you are right. One needs to examine themselves if there are having any mental issues beside....there are always physical side effects to mental issues....

It certaintly doesn't cure depression, I guess it is a good excuse to get out of the house and get some fresh air, but during and after the activity, my mood is exactly the same and I feel low energy. Thank you, I will talk to the doc about the SSRI's because the anxiety symptoms you have experienced on them are what I am also experiencing on Zoloft. ![]() |

I was told by the doc to exercise and would help along the med. It has not, and it does not take away the intrusive thoughts in my head. ![]() ![]() |

I end up walking a lot so get exercise that way, try to eat healthy but its hard to eat enough. But yeah those things might make me feel a little better over-all, like less stagnant but doesn't really help my mood too much.
I never tried zoloft but I had prozac which I think is similar my psychatrist didn't want me to try that one because I didn't react well to prozac, but didn't have luck with effexor, mirtazapine, zyprexa, celexa or wellbutrin either which have also been tried.
