Folks, I am here because I have a boss from hell. A boss who's sole purpose in life is to have me fired. That's been her mission since day one and she will not stop until I am gone.Almost 20 years at my job and now it all boils down to how this miserable miserable woman is gonna take me down. She's a controlling bag of termite eggs and I hate her immensely....now its taking it toll on me mentally and I'm beside myself on how to move forward with hatred of her and her determination to fire me. I want to make it clear, I'm not a violent person nor am I one who enjoys confrontations, so I come here hoping against all hope someone can help me get back to normal and just deal with the inevitable of being fired. I know its coming and I want to get to a place of acceptance so that I can move on.
Right now, her actions are consuming my life. I vomit each morning before I go to work. When I see her face my stomach begans to hurt and churn. I have dreams about this job, this lady, my future at this place. I can't sleep cause all I do is think about her. I do my best to ignore her at work, but she purposely approach me each morning with this fake smile, nudging me to say good morning, all the while turning the knife she has in my back one twist at a time. I'm smoking 2 packs of cigs a day, I'm drinking more at home just to get a sloppy sleep in. I can't talk to anyone about it, because they've heard about this woman to the point of nausea. And if one more person, including HR, her boss, a psychologist, a psychiatrist ![]() Somebody please just tell me its gonna be okay!! ![]() |

Hi, ggky59, and welcome to Psych Central! As you know, the worst case scenario would be that she would force you out or outright fire you. But life would go on if she let you go, would it not?
One techique I use is deal with anxiety is to breathe air in and then slowly let it out. Also, you can visualize something pleasurable and comforting. Ignore her as much as you can without making things worse. Bring things physically comforting in your pocketbook such as a smooth piece of marble you can rub, a soft piece of cloth, one of those little pamphlets with the smell of a new perfume you like, whatever. Plan things to look forward to in your life and try to see your job as less an "outstanding" part. What else, folks? I do hope things will help you relax more soon. ![]() |

gee - i had a boss like that - & you know what - she fired me. but i never hated her - cause hate makes you eat your insides out. i never allow myself to 'hate' people for being dumb. the problem was, from the beginning, we both knew i was smarter than her. & i'm not saying this cause i'm a brilliant person or anything. i had had 5 mgrs. before her and they all realized they needed to use my smart abilities rather than make me follow all the rules which really didn't matter. her - on the other hand, was not so smart - so she followed rules to the T - since she had no comprehension of her own. 'you must do such and such this way cause that is what the rule says'. - but if we change the rule to include this, we'd save such and such. - 'not allowed, no, we can't do it'.
so i pitied her instead. - you do that too. the lady wants you fired cause you are a threat. you have some ability she does not. please don't hate - it'll just eat you up - and for what? you vomit for a person who is out to get you? why waste that energy - she's not worth it. BTW - i was fired - and got a fine job afterwards. - & BTW - she was fired 2yrs after cause she didn't know what the heck she was doing and ran the company into the ground. |
