Hi, I'm a new member.
Anyway, I've been dealing with depression all my life on and off but only sought professional help a few months ago. I was put on Venlafaxine 300mg/day.
I ended up being hospitalized in december for ten days. Only change to my medication was Trazadone added to help me sleep at night (which it did).

I went to my doctor recently because I still felt really anxious. I was crying a lot and spending most of my time in bed, as well as having a lot of bad thoughts.

His reaction to me calling it anxiety was he removed me off of the trazadone and yelled at me because I'm on so much venlafaxine and that he can't increase it. He said if I was still 'weepy' he'd have to add another anti-depressant, but I didn't go back because I was so upset I was crying through the entire appointment. I felt he was treating me like a child.

If I go for help.. should I be treated that way?

Welcome to PC! I'm sorry you are feeling as you do. May I suggest finding another doctor who is a bit more empathetic? Sometimes we don't always click with our docs and it's just a matter of finding one we do click with.

I hope you can find relief soon. Keep talking, that can help. There are lots of very supportive folks here!

Wishing you peace.

Hugssssssss
