I'm 31 and live at home. And I don't have a job. I'm on disability at the moment. I feel a lot of pressure. Mostly, from myself. To get a job, even though I don't want to work. To move out, even though I don't have the money. I just fee like I should be someplace else in my life.

Hi (again!!) starrysky, from your other post.........clinical depression.........please try not to be too hard on yourself
It would be completely understandable if you weren't able to work, so please don't feel bad about that, I'd say that the main focus should be on getting the help/support you need to be feeling a little better.
And try not to judge yourself based on where you are in life, obviously the depression has put some limitations on you (depression you didn't ask for!!) but that doesn't need to define you/who you are.
I have got to say it's good you want something more though, and yes, you can go for something more. Just maybe have a think about what might be achievable e.g. if you could possibly "get out" just a little more...........get in a little more social interaction...........whatever you're able to do.
And what you come up with might seem really small to you when you're thinking of "someplace else" in your life..........but we both know how hard it can be to do even "small" things when you're feeling like you're feeling, so trust me we will be talking about you getting to someplace big in your life even if what you're managing does seem small.
One step at a time at your own pace, hey??
And just a thought.......do you think maybe you could manage an hour or two (?) voluntary work a week?? Something with a little more flexibility/less commitment?? Something "fulfilling", something to allow you to feel you're doing something??
Just a thought, like I said if you can't work, you can't and please don't "beat yourself up" over it.

Hey Alison, thanks so much for your kind responses. Yeah, volunteer work is a really good idea. And baby steps, yeah, I like that too. Yeah, I guess I was venting. I know deep down all the positive stuff. But I forget! And need to see it or hear it from someone else. I hope you have a good evening.
