I feel misdiagnosed and not taken seriously. Everything seems so useless

Hi iditp20,

If you feel misdiagnosed, I would say that the best thing to do is to speak with your counselor and ask them what behaviors or thoughts that you have said in session that have brought them to your diagnosis. Clinicians are not perfect, and mistakes are made of course. On the other hand, feeling like you are not being taken seriously can truly hurt. I know how you feel. Is it possible to get a second opinion?

I would say if they are not listening to what you have to say and not taking it seriously than find a new doc. I know with the NHS that can be impossible. You have a right to know exactly what they are thinking and why you have the dx you have.

If no other services will listen, keep persevering with your GP. It can be a long haul, I've been in and out of the surgery every week for 9 months now and have finally got the pdoc appt I've needed since February. I hope you get the breakthrough you need soon.

It is so frustrating when you get the feeling that the people who are supposed to be helping you are not listening and taking you seriously. Let them know you are hurting and in need of help. Talk to them and try to find out why they misdiagnosed you. Best of wishes.

It's a very low chance that you will get someone good on the nhs. It's like they are paid voices that read out of a book.

The problems are that I have so many symptoms that are kinda cross referenced from different mental health issues. So they just dump you into one diagnosis and leave you there.
